Adipex Diet Pills

Adipex is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. It acts on the hypothalamus and releases the flight- and- fight neurotransmitter, the noradrenaline in the brain. It also acts on the fat cells by burning the deposited fat in the body.

Adipex is indicated for people who are obese with their body mass index being equal to more than 30. Obesity is the major cause for many of the diseases nowadays. The main causes of obesity are genetics, uncontrolled or bad dietary habits and sedentary life style.

Adipex diet pills should be taken for a short term course not more than 12 weeks along with exercise and dietary modifications. Adipex used along with exercise and dietary modifications has helped people to reduce even up to 15 kgs. But the weight reduction starts only after a few weeks treatment.

Adipex should not be used in persons with high blood pressure because it further increases the blood pressure by its sympathomimetic action. Though most of the obese patients suffer from hypertension it is better to avoid Adipex in such patients. It should not be used in patients who have atherosclerosis, hyperthyroidism or an overactive thyroid, glaucoma which is an increase in the ocular pressure, and also in people who are in an agitated state as it further stimulates the central nervous system and also in people with history of drug or alcohol abuse.

The common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, palpitation, pulmonary hypertension if used along with fenfluramine, an increase in the blood pressure, restlessness, insomnia or loss of sleep, drug dependence and addiction. It is therefore important to take Adipex only when really needed and on prescription.
